Thursday Power Verse
1 Peter 5:7 NIV Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Thinking of today's power verse, we need to be humble and trust God to exalt us at the time of His choosing. We must stop seeking our own glory and believe in and submit to servant leadership and good works (for others). The work is hard especially when struggling to submit to harsh human authorities. This verse speaks to those serving year after year with little recognition. It encourages those providing for others of limited power or value in society like the caregivers for the sick, elderly, homeless, and disabled.
Human nature would have you think that we are wasting our lives, could be doing something better, and our choice to serve in humility without any tangible reward (like money, fame or recognition) is evidence that we are really worthless. But nothing could be farther from the truth.
Peter wrote that we should take fear and all of our anxiety (worries) and cast it (like a net) to our Father. God because He cares so deeply for us. It doesn't mean that God is going to fix everything you ask in the way you expect, but He hears everything but may answer in a way that is not expected.
